In an effort to promote the success of PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games and Paralympics Winter Games, a giant water bobsleigh will be set up in Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Square during the Bobsleigh in the City event period.

This “water bobsleigh” within the city is a 300 m long and 22 m high water slide made fit for a special single rider tube that resemble a bobsleigh. The water slide will be installed from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on August 19 & 20. The slide’s operating hours are divided into five sessions per day, with a 30 min. interval every 2 hours. Although the water slide is available free of charge, water slide riders are limited to ticket holders only. Tickets are expected to be distributed an hour before each session on the day of the event on a first-come, first-served basis at the ticket booth in Gwanghwamun Square.

Shade canopies, pool chairs, and restrooms will also be prepared for convenience. In addition, an exciting evening performance will take place on a special stage set up at the northern Gwanghwamun Square from 6 p.m., featuring popular K-pop stars such as EXID and Tiger JK on the 19th, Block B and GFriend on the 20th. Visitors will also be able to savor a variety of delicious food from food trucks lined along the eastern Sejong-daero. Tickets will not be required to enjoy performance events and to make purchase from the food trucks.
