Gangwon State University opens for Goblin fans

Although the popular drama “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (2016),” also known as Goblin, ended in January, the number of tourists visiting the filming sites is still soaring. In particular, Jumunjin Breakwater is seeing a line of tourists who come to re-enact the romantic scene where Ji Eun-tak (played by Kim Go-eun) and Dokkaebi (played by Gong Yoo) meet for the first time. It is here that Dokkaebi gives a bouquet of buckwheat flowers to Eun-tak and also holds an umbrella over her as she cries in the rain, both times wearing her signature red scarf.

Due to the high volume of tourists visiting and the lack of public transit and parking to the area, the nearby Gangwon State University has made the decision to open their campus to the public, starting April 25. This will make it easier for tourists traveling by private vehicle to park and visit the filming site at Jumunjin Breakwater. The campus will be open to the public from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and includes the university’s restrooms as well as the parking lot.
